Five independent checks, and what each one actually covers.
Every Lazy Lowie mattress carries internationally recognised certifications. Here is what each of them tests, in plain language.
A sustainability standard for mattress latex. It limits synthetic chemicals in rubber growing, but its real subject is the land: regenerative agroforestry, smallholder farmers instead of monoculture plantations, and a supply chain you can follow.
A safety test on the finished components. It screens for hundreds of regulated substances, from heavy metals to pesticide residues, so nothing harmful reaches your skin during those eight hours.
A European standard for the latex core itself. It caps volatile organic compounds, heavy metals and toxic residues during production, aimed at health in the bedroom and cleaner manufacturing.
Durability, measured by TÜV Rheinland. The core takes 1,400 Newtons of force over 60,000 compression cycles, years of nightly use in a test rig, to prove it keeps its shape instead of sagging.
An independent German emissions test. Laboratory chambers measure VOCs, formaldehyde, pesticides and heavy metals, which in practice is a check on the air in the room you sleep in.

Is the latex natural or synthetic?+
Natural latex from Belgium. It resists dust mites and mould naturally, which matters in humid climates.
I have a latex allergy. Is it safe?+
The latex core is fully enclosed by foam layers and the Tencel cover, so there is no skin contact. If you have a severe allergy, contact us before ordering.
Can I see the actual certificates?+
